Meet Mrs Duck and Family

Image
Let's take a ride Three weeks ago, I felt the need to take off to tour my neighbourhood a bit by a lovely and shiny Tuesday morning. You can imagine my joy and surprise to have been granted the privilege to meet Mrs Duck also taking all of her family on a romantic ballad on a pond not too fancy but with enough space for them to have a fun time. Just look at her, seems like she is even smiling. You could felt her happiness and even though at first she appeared shy to me, later on she just acted like a queen in her own kingdom. Mummy's Precious So small and sooo cute. They were lovely, swimming, turning. Poor me, I don't know how to swim :( And as was unprepared to have such a genuine encounter i couldn't even enjoy their presence to the maximum. Brothers or sisters, I would never know. But tell me something: "How will they turn their feathers later to be just like their mummy?" Mistery and really incredible mother nature powers. Let's sti...

Douala harbour by night

Image
Douala is the largest city in Cameroon and the economic powerhouse .  Home to Cameroon's largest port and its major international airport " Douala International Airport" , it is the commercial capital of the country. Consequently, it handles most of the country's major exports, such as oil , cocoa and coffee , timber, metals and fruits. "Bonanjo" I've spent 11 years of my life in Douala, especially in "Bonanjo" which is a residential area, not about all the crappy pictures that are listed on Google when you mention Douala. I'm still amazed of the fact that Cameroon, is so badly referenced when it comes to areas that are worth to discover. Would you like to see an image of Bonanjo? Here you go: This is the "Place du Gouvernement", small park area in the centre of Bonanjo and the monument behind is a Memorial to the First World War commemorating French and allied losses in Cameroon campaign against G...

How to grow fresh herbs at home?

Image
Growing culinary herbs at home is one of the most tricky issue that any cooking lover encounter  sooner or later. Before I finally found a way of dealing with this problem, i made researches, googled and watched several youtube videos but all didn't seem to succeed in my kitchen. Seeing myself buying over and over again the same herbs 3 times a week brought me one morning to say :"And if i try keeping them this simple way?" Which herbs are we talking about? The herbs I use regularly are: "basil, oregano, rosemary and spring onions".  I usually buy them at a Fruit and Vegetables store not far from my house. They are sold in sealed packages and intended to be kept in a cold temperature once at home. Anyway, I broke that rule one morning and seeing the results, I no longer keep the herbs mentioned in the fridge. This is what I do: The example shown here is based on rosemary. The steps to follow are also applicable to basil and oregano. 1. Re...

"Oven Grilled Chicken" Home made recipe

Image
"Welcome Home" There are so many recipes in the world when it comes to grilling chicken breast in the oven. But it takes you and you only to make a recipe special and memorable. I made this yesterday as a way of saying "Welcome Home". Why? Sometimes as a woman, you need to surprise your partner, boyfriend or even husband not only with a sexy nuisette hehehe, but also with a delicious meal. In Cameroon which is my home town, it is said :"Man is all about the stomach and the lower abdomen" A woman needs to develop kitchen skills and sexual techniques to keep her man satisfied. Don't ask me how it all started lol, I found the rule and it has been transmitted through generations. Back to cooking! As ingredients you'll need: - Six pieces of chicken breast - Black pepper - White pepper - Rosemary leaves - White onion - Roman tomatoes - Green pepper  - Half of a lime or lemon - Garlic - Salt - 10 potatoes Once you've clea...

Edit your pictures using a smartphone app

Image
How do you find the effect on this picture? Quite impressive isn't it? I took this picture using a Canon Powershot SX40 and just played editing it with my phone which is a Samsung Galaxy SII. Now the apps that I used can be downloaded through "Google Play Store". They were : Picsart and Photo Wonder. Before I saved everything, I added a last touch from photoshop CS6, and I was done :) This is what the original picture looked like: Before you start editing any of your picture with a mobile photography app, always make sure that the setting is on "Large" or at least the photo size is 2048*1536 or 3264*1968 or even more to have better results regarding the resolution. I do not claim being a professional photographer. I'm passionated about photography and am willing to learn more about it whenever I have free time. Below are more of the this day shooting episode: Here is the "artistic effect 6" found in the ...

Singing "My Heart will go on" by Celine Dion

Image
I recorded this video two or three months ago.  Even though it was a response to a challenge i agreed to enter with my sisters to see which one of us would produce the right notes, i finally ended up making it a permanent thing. As it was my first video ever, i was shy and am actually proud i recorded it to remember how i started the whole thing :) Hope you'll enjoy and will be expecting all comments. Ps: My sisters finally never recorded theirs, they blame it on shy and not so sure of themselves and maybe afraid of judgements. Aevermint

Campus days

Image
Back in the days... Had so much fun with these two. We studied Travel and Tourism at Damelin, one of South Africa's top higher education institution. From Gabon, they were extremely friendly and easy to connect to. Even though they only spoke english during lectures (they're native french speakers) they considerably improved their pronunciation during the years. I enjoyed chatting with them, sharing thoughts on what we were intending to do once we were done with the stress of studies. The picture above was taken during winter 2012. We just finished our exams and were moving to have a snack to chill before we moved home. And here comes Mr Sandey Bernard. He was our first year Travel & Tourism Coordinator. An excellent lecturer and i mean those words :). He transmitted his knowledge on Practice and Development. He seemed to forget sometimes that we were just first learners because he used to feed us with so much to learn at once. Anyway, the fact that we ...

Birds of Brightwater Commons

Image
On the 6th of November 2012, I went to" Brightwater Commons" in Randburg were i shot few birds. I love nature and wildlife. That's one of my special interests in life. The bird on the left still amaze me. Such beautiful colours, majesty of the pose and such a peaceful attitude.  This one is certainly my best and i hope to put a frame on it  and hang it on my bedroom's wall in the near future. I might as well add some effects on it. But shall see that later :) When am a bit stressed, i shoot anything, from people on the streets to flowers and that  immediately  bring a smile unto my face as i play seek and hide especially with birds ;) The second star of my day was this little fella over here. He really played hard to catch and acted like a real born star.  Anyway i finally tricked him and caught him on my way back home right at my gate.  What name do you think we should give to this guy? For more of this day shooting, please ju...
